The Moto E has tasted a huge success and popularity, since the first day of its launch. This smartphone went “Out of Stock” in just few hours of its first online appearance.

Following which, every Indian and International smartphone brand was in the hurry to launch their new device, which could compete against the Motorola Moto E. India’s number one smartphone brand Micromax, launched their latest offering, the Micromax Unite 2 at the same price tag at which Moto E was launched. Also, the Unite 2 packs similar features, hardware specs and OS, as of the Moto E.

Display

The Micromax Unite 2 flaunts a 4.7-inch IPS LCD Capacitive touch screen display with resolution of 480 x 800 pixels at 199 ppi. While, the Moto E sports a 4.3-inch Multi-touch screen display, which produces 16M at a resolution of 540 x 960 pixels at 256 ppi. The display of Moto E is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

The Micromax Unite 2 flaunts a bigger touch screen display. But, the pixel density and resolution on the Motorola Moto E is better. Also, the Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection on Moto E makes it a winner in the segment.

Processor & RAM

The Micromax Unite 2 is powered by a MediaTek Quad Core Processor clocked at 1.3GHz and supported by 1GB of RAM & Mali 400MP2 GPU. While, the Moto E is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 Dual Core Processor clocked at 1.2GHz, and coupled with 1GB of RAM & GPU Adreno 302.

Winner of the Segment–

The hardware configuration on both Micromax Unite 2 and Motorola Moto E is well enough to run huge Apps and HD games with an ease on the device. The user won’t find any huge difference in the performance of these two processors.

Operating System

Micromax Unite 2 and Motorola Moto E, both these smartphones run on Google’s latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system out of the box. Motorola has the promised the buyers of Moto E that it would be getting an OS update in the future. Micromax Unite 2 would be getting firmware update in future.

The Micromax Unite 2 is equipped with 5 Megapixels Autofocus Rear Camera, coupled with an LED flash. This smartphone also packs a 2 MP front facing camera for video calls and capturing selfies.

On the other hand, Motorola Moto E houses a 5 Megapixels Autofocus Rear camera. It misses an LED flash and a front facing secondary camera.

The Micromax Unite 2 is fuelled by a 2000mAH Li-ion battery, while the Motorola Moto E is fuelled by almost a same capacity 1980mAH Li-ion battery.

Verdict

In this comparison war, we found that both these smartphones have many things in common. The only difference which could matter is the display, secondary camera and the LED flash. The Moto E packs a better display in terms of performance, while the Micromax Unite 2 packs a secondary camera and an LED flash.

Also, the brand reputation and service centre support for both these smartphones in India are almost similar. Following which, this comparison test ends in a tie.
